Privacy Policy

1. Data on your iPad

The iPad app stores your visitor log, settings, and employee list on your own device. If you never sign in to the online dashboard, none of it passes through our servers.

Visitor photos and signed agreements always stay on your iPad. They are never uploaded, even when the online dashboard is turned on.

When you export a log, email a PDF report, or send a host notification to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, Discord, or a webhook, that transfer goes from your iPad straight to the service you chose. We do not receive a copy.

2. Your account and the online dashboard

When you create an account we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed password so you can sign in.

If you connect your iPad to the online dashboard, it syncs a copy of each check-in to your account: the visitor’s name and any details your form asks for (such as email, company, host, and phone), plus sign-in and sign-out times. It also syncs your form fields, employee list, and location name so the dashboard and invites match your kiosk.

This data is only visible to your account. We use it to run the dashboard for you, not for advertising or any other purpose.

3. Visitor invites

When you invite a visitor, we store the name, email address, visit date and time, note, and any details you enter, and we email the visitor an invite with a QR code on your behalf. Replies to the invite go to your own email address.

You are responsible for having a reason to contact the people you invite. We only use their details to deliver the invite and to fill in their check-in when they scan it.

4. Data this website collects

When you use the contact form we receive the name, email address, topic, and message you type, so that we can reply. We keep support correspondence only as long as it is useful for handling your request and any follow-up.

We use Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand how many people visit this website and which pages they use. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.

We do not sell, rent, or trade any information you or your visitors give us.

5. Third-party services

We use a small number of vendors to operate: Supabase for accounts and the dashboard database, Resend to deliver invite and support emails, Vercel to host this website, and Google Analytics for website statistics. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function.

The iPad app is distributed through the App Store and is also subject to Apple’s own privacy practices for purchases and any analytics you have opted into.

6. Children

Simple Visitor Log is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your choices

Data on your iPad is under your control: delete records in the app, or remove the app itself. You can turn off the online dashboard on your iPad at any time to stop syncing.

To get a copy of the data held in your account, or to delete your account and everything synced to it, write to hello@orionbelt.com and we will take care of it.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be called out clearly rather than slipped in quietly.
